4 days days and 13 WIP's. Not that I think that I will cast off 13 FO's in 4 days, but I do wonder how many needles I can free in 96 hours. I would at least love to finish my December Shawl so to complete my 12 patterns for 2009 (I am pretty surprised that I have not given up on that!)
Second project in the run is one of the following (so that I can complete 4 of the 12 sweaters in 2009):
Ingenue: I just ripped back to the waist shaping and I need to lengthen the sleeves too
Fence: better known as the cursed vest
White Sparking Shrug: that Principessa needs soon anyway

Really?
I have been back for 2 weeks and I haven't posted anything yet? Summer days do fly by, maybe I should imitate Susan and establish here a policy of Five on Friday too.
Anyway, do I have 5 things to report? Let's see.

Pattern: Oak Ribbed Socks
Yarn: Baby og Hosegarn
Ravelry project page here
I started these sock on plane to Amsterdam and I completed them few days before coming back. As all the patterns from Knitting Vintage Socks, I love them!

Pattern: Yarrow Ribber Socks
Yarn: Poems Socks
Ravelry project page here
Hollis got her her first shipment of this sock yarn last February at Stitches West, and I immediately grabbed a skein: among the long color run sock yarns, this is definitely my favorite!

Pattern: Jaywalker
Yarn: Regia Canadian Color
Ravelry page here
Yes, I did start another Jaywalker, my default sock pattern, on the plane ride back home.
I did work on my Sugar Maple Shawl and I happy to report that I have to finish the last repeat, knit the border (the orginal pattern did not have a border, but I have decided to add one) and then I am done!
The Purple Charlotte was completely neglected, but I started my first Pi Shawl (so much for NaKniWweMoDo!)

I realized that I have not made a plan for this, but I had a 2008 plan to try andreduce contain manage my stash that I carried over to 2009:

Scary thing is, I can go until Dec 2010 with one yarn per month and I am only half way through my stash!

July 1st
And half of 2009 is gone, better pay attention because before you know it will be 2010.

My Summer Cardi is progressing and I even found the perfect bottoms (sorry, no pic.) But being July, and with the White Sparkling Shrug on hold waiting for more yarn, I felt compelled to start sweater #7. Or actually, re-start because I casted on again for Sahara. Will see how it goes this time.

Some progress
My 3rd nakniswemodo project is blocking right now, done by tonight?

The yarn in my last post is becoming my April 12 patterns for 2009, but it is definitely NOT being published today. Oh well, two in May then.
My obsession for small projects continues on, baby pullover:

Pattern: Baby pullover #214 by Diane Soucy
Yarn: Supermerino by Artyarns

Let's count this as sweater #2

Even if I am not happy with it at all. I made this sweater because it reminded me of Silana (Ravelry link), that is my favorite sweater ever. I should have stick to the original. I do not like the length of the sleeves and it does not have enough waist shaping. Nothing I can't fix, in fact I did not even weave in the ends and I wore for a while on Friday, just to test. The length of the sleeves drove me crazy, they kept rinding up my elbow. So, major adjustments soon - If I lengthen the sleeves, I would want to lengthen the body as well, do while I am at ut, I will add more waist shaping.
One day.

One done!
My first sweater of 2009 is done:

Pattern: Everything But The Kitchen Sink by Lisa Shobhana Mason
Yarn: Karabella Aurora 8
It was an UFO, but according to the rules of the game, it counts.
Now I am off to select my second sweater of the year, and since I am trying to knit most of my NaKniSweMoDo projects from stash, and I am still following my plan of using the yarn that has been in my stash first, I'll use 16 balls of Karabella Aurora 8 in Royal Purple that I have been waiting in my stash forseveral years a while. The sweater I picked? Ingenue by Wendy Bernard.
I know it is very similar to my Silana, that is my favorite sweater ever, but that is exactly it, I will ever my most favorite sweater in another color.
Stay tuned for the first of my 12 patterns for 2009, coming up tomorrow (if you are not among the 150 people who have already downloaded it from Ravelry.)

NaKniSweMo
I am usually 2 months behind in listening to my favorite podcasts, but I am all caught up with Stash and Burn. That means that I learned about NaKniSweMo [Ravelry link to the group] before it ended (like, for example, Socktoberfest?)
Given that it is finally fall around here (it rains!) I could use a sweater so I will finish this:

Pattern: Everything but the Kitchen Sink by Lisa Shobhana Mason
Yarn: Karabella Aurora 8
and I will finally make Cherie Amour by Ashley Adams Moncrief - I even have the yarn!
Sound like a plan? Yes, so I casted for a scarf:
