Last four days of 2009

4 days days and 13 WIP's. Not that I think that I will cast off 13 FO's in 4 days, but I do wonder how many needles I can free in 96 hours. I would at least love to finish my December Shawl so to complete my 12 patterns for 2009 (I am pretty surprised that I have not given up on that!)

Second project in the run is one of the following (so that I can complete 4 of the 12 sweaters in 2009):

Ingenue: I just ripped back to the waist shaping and I need to lengthen the sleeves too

Fence
: better known as the cursed vest

White Sparking Shrug
: that Principessa needs soon anyway

I realized that I have not made a plan for this, but I had a 2008 plan to try and reduce contain manage my stash that I carried over to 2009:

May Baby Sweater

I am terrible late with my 12 patterns for 2009 project, and yes, I am skipping to May while April is still being edited. June will follow soon (we can all hope, right?)

So, your friend just had a baby and so you need a baby gift? Just grab some bulky yarn, size 11 needles, and this cardigan will be done in no time!

Some progress

My 3rd nakniswemodo project is blocking right now, done by tonight?

Vine Lace Vest

The yarn in my last post is becoming my April 12 patterns for 2009, but it is definitely NOT being published today. Oh well, two in May then.
My obsession for small projects continues on, baby pullover:

March Baby Sweater

Here is my free pattern for March - it looks like I am really doing this AND NaKnitSweMoDo! I wonder how long I can hold on, but for now, project #3 and pattern #3.

March Baby Sweater

This baby sweater is worked in one piece from the top down. The yoke is worked back and forth to create the slit, while the body and the sleeves are worked in the round.

I used one skein of LuLu's Yarns Supersock Merino DK (330 yards) and I had literally 2 yards left - if the prospect of running out of yarn keeps you up at night, buy 2 skeins (you can always make socks with the second one!)

Ravelry link here, download the pdf here.

February Slippers

Did you all think I forgot about my promise of a pattern a month? I know it's almost the end of February, but dyeing and knitting for Stitches West threw my whole month off. Anyway, here they are, the February Slippers, in bulky weight, they knit up in a flash!

12 patterns for 2009

You have probably all heard of National Knit a Sweater a Month Dodecathon (if not ...... really?)
The subject has been discussed at long at my Monday night knitting group, many feeling not up to knitting 12 sweaters in 2009, but maybe 12 projects, 12 things that start with s (s like a scarf would work.)
Insane me, I am determined to knit 12 sweaters. Fortunately for me, they can be UFO from a a time far away, so I have made my tentative list, but I had another thought: what if I pledge to write 12 patterns in 2009? Insane? Probably.

Superworsted and Grande

Here are the rule of the game, so to speak:

1. One pattern per month, free Ravelry download
2. Each pattern will be written for one of my yarns
3. Each pattern will take only one skein of yarn

Check back soon for the first pattern, and happy 2009!

I am still knitting the 12 sweaters .......
