One Down
Two week, more or less, and school is over. The kids and I are counting the days, yes, for once, I am counting the days too, because they kids are off to Italy for two months as soon as school is out. I am sure I'll miss them terribly, but ..... 2 weeks completely alone, 4 weeks alone with my husband? I am sure I will be so happy to see them again, after I have enjoyed so much "me time."
The end of the school year means present for teachers and bus drivers. One evening, one down (I have only 4, at the end of the year only core teachers get a present.)
I found some Sugar 'n Cream in my stash and in a couple of hours (maybe three?), the Teapot Mat from Jo Sharp Knit 2. The soap pouch is very loosely based on the one from Spa Set Bath Mitt by Tamara Del Sonno, but I knit in stockinette and in the round. Add a nice bar of organic soap, and I am done.

Plans and deadlines
I am one of those person who thrive under pressure. If a project takes two weeks, you can bet that I will start one week before the deadline, otherwise, where is the fun?
That applies to knitting as well, if I look at my Ravelry notebook, I see that the projects that have been "in progress" for over a year are the ones for which I have no deadline. Actually, I have been deadlines free the whole month of May, hence the proliferation of small mindless projects. Even the plan is not helping, because I have decided to de-stash May yarn due to the mohair sensitivity issue:
So to get out my knitting slump I have decided to give myself a couple of deadlines; my Logcabin Blanket is going to be for my cousin's baby (due in June) and my I was going to wear my Sugar Maple Shawl at a benefit tonight. Then this happened and I knit another one of these:
and started this:
I won't need a shawl after all.

It is May
Every year, during the last two months of schools of the kids, time seems to accelerate in a mad spiral until they are off to Italy as soon as schools is out. All I seem to do these days is running from a musical rehearsal to a baseball game to a swim practice. May Challenges: Transportation. Not doing well.
While I stress about the fact that I am always driving, all I can manage to knit are minuscule projects:
Yarn: LuLu's Yarns Supersock
Pattern: Little Coriolis by Cat Bordhi
Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun
Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun
Pattern: ChemoCaps Eyelet Hat by Joanne Turcotte
Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun
You would think that I am done with my Lion Brand Microspun, but I still have enough for another for another Eyelet Chemo cap. This Thursday game.
