Coming out for air

Let's not bore everybody with the usual I haven't had time to breathe, and let's move on to important things like the contest. Thank you to everybody who participate, and gosh, nobody guessed right? You can read the answer on Erica's blog.
So I put the names of the people who guessed at least one fiber in a hat, pick one out, and the winner is ...... Amy
I have already emailed you, so as soon as I have your address, the yarn is on its way.

Now, for the obligatory knitting content, look at this:

Ty-dy T-shirt

Ty-Dy by Knit One Crochet Too [Ravelry link], worsted weight cotton with long color repeats - I do not know you, but I have been waiting a long time for something like this!

Another contest

3/28/2008 ETA: CONTEST CLOSED

You may remember that Erica was one of the winner of my last contest, and here comes another one. When asked to pick a yarn and and a colorway, she chose the Fregene* colorway and a new yarn I will be carrying that it is not listed yet.

Marinella

I just dyed two of these babies, one is for Erica, the second one for whoever guess the fiber content of the yarn. Leave your guess in the comments.

*Just north of Rome, Fregene, once a simple fishing village, is a quick getaway from Rome and an upscale alternative to the congested beaches of nearby Ostia. Throughout the summer, actors, soccer stars and the Roman gentry go there to feast in waterfront restaurants, to dance until the wee hours and, most of all, to tan themselves on the beaches.

No pictures

I am still working on my Ariann [Ravelry link] and I have the sneaking suspicion that I do not really need the two extra ball I got. You see, I realized that I thought I was decreasing for the yoke, but I was not, because I was balancing the decreases with yarn overs of the pattern. So I ripped the whole thing off to the beginning of the yoke and then I went 4 inches up, 2 inches down, 5 inches up, 1 inch, down and so on all week.
I swear, you would think it is called Penelope instead of Ariann.

For the trill of finishing something, I made another Jen's Sensational Scarf [Ravelry link], same yarn, same everything.

I have not forgot about the contest, I just forgot to post about it. Thank you so much to everybody who donated, and we have to winners: Erica (very rightly so because she was the first one) and no-blog Mary. Gals, I will email you shortly about your prizes!

Could this be the year?

Could this be the year I finally knit things for myself? Not only I finished my SBK [Ravelry Link]:

Simple Knitted Bodice

but I am almost done with my Ariann [Ravelry Link]:

Ariann
Yarn: Queensland Collection Uruguay DK

The plan is to wear it at Stitches, I am going to be all Saturday at the FTA booth.

And, I casted on the Back-to-School U-Neck Vest[Ravelry Link] from Fitted Knits by Stefanie Japel:

back-to-school vest
Yarn: Karabella Aurora 8

Well, I like purple, I like Stephanie Japel's work.

UPDATE on the CONTEST: Principessa has raised almost $100 - thank you so much to everybody who donated on her page or sending me the money via paypal. She she does reach $100, there are going to be two winners! Or three if she reaches $200 and so forth.

Hoops for Heart Contest

Principessa is participating to Hoops for Heart at her school, so what is better than a little contest to help her out?

Here is the link to her page (under my name): donate any amount* and you will enter in a contest to win a skein of my yarn (your choice of yarn and colorway.)

*The American Heart Association's online fundraising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you want to donate less, that's ok. You can just paypal it to me with the button below and I'll make sure the American Heart Association gets it.

Knit Unto Others

This year Knit Unto Others has a theme: It's the Little Things, so mittens, hats or socks for children. That is just perfect because I just received an email from afghans for Afghans asking for items for newborns.
While looking in my stash for suitable yarns, I put lots of unloved yarn in a box for the Interim House: they are always looking for yarn donations.

Updated on the contest: I'll keep it open until Monday and here is a suggestion, look in my finished objects collection, I bet you'll recognize lots of yarns.

Sock Yarn Shawl Contest

Here is the contest, as promised:

Sock Yarn Shawl
Click on the picture to see a larger view

Guess as many sock yarns as you can.
Just leave a comment with your guesses, I'll randomly pick a winner among everybody and maybe a second one if someone does really well!

ETA: I do not think I was really clear, you need to guess which yarns I am using, not how many. I have numbered the yarns, so leave a comment like "#1 is sock yarn happy feet, #3 is bla bla, etc..."

ETA again: I forgot to mention that the prize is going to be sock yarn, of course!

Just a contest

I have been very busy and on top of that sick with a very bad cold, so to distract you all from the lack of blogging, what about a contest?

Contest

Guess which pattern I am knitting this sock in and you can win one of my yarns.

Just leave a comment with your guess, and I'll pick a random winner among everybody who participate, plus another one if someone guesses right.
