12 patterns for 2009

You have probably all heard of National Knit a Sweater a Month Dodecathon (if not ...... really?)
The subject has been discussed at long at my Monday night knitting group, many feeling not up to knitting 12 sweaters in 2009, but maybe 12 projects, 12 things that start with s (s like a scarf would work.)
Insane me, I am determined to knit 12 sweaters. Fortunately for me, they can be UFO from a a time far away, so I have made my tentative list, but I had another thought: what if I pledge to write 12 patterns in 2009? Insane? Probably.

Superworsted and Grande

Here are the rule of the game, so to speak:

1. One pattern per month, free Ravelry download
2. Each pattern will be written for one of my yarns
3. Each pattern will take only one skein of yarn

Check back soon for the first pattern, and happy 2009!

I am still knitting the 12 sweaters .......

Look what arrived the day after Christmas, all the way from Germany!

The kids are very thrilled about the chocolate (Kinder), their favorite that we can't find here. Do not think I'll get any, I'll have to console myself with laughing and knitting.

Ready or not .....

Presents for family in Italy were given to my brother last week, presents to kids' teachers were delivered on Friday (and no, this was not ready, it is going to be a end-of-the-year gift, so I have 5 more months) but the school color scarf was a big hit with the PE teacher:

Paperino wants gloves with 5 fingers from the Knitting Fairy, and she is few ends away from being done, while Principessa wants black fetching, and you know the story with Fetching, right? Always short few yards:

Are you doing any holiday knitting? Yes

Part B:

Have you finished? You are kidding, right?

Knock knock, anybody there?

You can all guess what I have been doing all this time, knitting holiday presents and working too much.

The Princess Hat for my niece is ready and I think it came out very cute:

I love this pattern, I love the yarns I used (not my colors, but the hat is not for me either), I see many more of these in my future - perfect last minute gift. And being today December, it's all about last minutes gifts and I am frantically going down my list: 3 more scarves, 2 more hats, a set of handwarmers, one pair of socks, one cardigan to assemble, and a hat to felt:
