Yarn is taking over my house

I have three wholesale orders I am trying to get out of the house, so wherever I look, there is yarn. And dust bunnies, like Paperino keeps pointing out while trying to kick them with his ball (alpaca does create a lot of dust bunnies) while dribbling around empty cones.

All this re-skeining and dyeing does not leave much time for knitting, but thanks to soccer and swim practices, I do have a couples of updates.

The SKB has a sleeve, well almost:

SKB

I have decided I like neither options offered so I have decided for a 3/4 straight sleeve.

The Knitting Pure and Simple Baby Pullover has almost a sleeve too:

Baby Pullover

I should finish both next week - we'll see!

Well, if you have been reading until now, in the spirit of "getting as much yarn as possible out of the house, what about free shipping on my Etsy shop? Just put "blog" in the comment box, and I'll send you a revised invoice.

Catching up

I have become the worst blogger, I received this wonderful package from my very wonderful Secret Pal and it took me a week to post it here:

SP 11 package

The book is one I have been coveting forever, so I am super-excited, and the yarn is a very shiny merino tencel blend from Minds's Eye Yarns. The bag is roomy enough to hold a medium project like a baby sweater, and I never have enough project bags since my chronic affliction with startitis.

Thank you so much, Secret Pal, you are the best!

In knitting news, I have finished my Lace Mock Cable Socks, but no photos yet - sorry!

May I distract you guys with the photo of a project I finished a while ago for FTA?

One sock, two socks, three socks

It seems that it is all I am knitting these days, being always at a soccer or swim practice. There is no reason why I could not bring any other project with me, but socks are easy.

I finished the first one of the Madder Ribber Socks from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks:

Madder Ribber Sock

I like simple ribbed pattern to try out new yarn; this is Ornaghi Filati Luna Park in color #202.

I am done with the first one of my Sockapalooza 4 socks #2, and at the heel of the second one:

Lacy Mock Cable Socks

Yarn: Fleece Artist Basic Merino Socks in Blue Lagoon, pattern available here.

I can't show you guys sock #3, but it will available with Robyn's Nest October Sock Club Kit, so sign up!

SP11 Questions

1. What is the one knitting accessory you could not live without? Measuring tape.

2. If you're heading on vacation, do you take knitting with you? If so, how much and what type of project? Of course! Way too much, if I am lost on a desert island, everybody is going to have socks and maybe a sweater.

3. Where have you traveled to that you'd consider your favorite spot? Home.

4. What is your favorite knitting book at the moment? Do you own it? Every time I go to my LYS, I lust after Victorian Lace Today.

5. Do you listen to podcasts? Which is your favorite(s)? Stash and Burn, Cast On.
6. If you could only knit with 1 color for the rest of your life, what color would that be? Red.
7. If you were far into a project and then noticed a mistake near the beginning what would you do? It depends if I can live with it. I have no problem in frogging an entire project if I can't live with the mistake.
8. Where is the most unusual spot you've ever knit? There is no such a thing as an "unusual place" for knitting.

Unbelievable

I made curtains, and with that I mean that I sewed some curtains for Paperino's room, not that I knit some:

Paperino's curtains

I, the one who can't sew to save her life, can actually sew to make her son's room cooler - who knew? Well, I did use a sewing machine.

Paperino is very happy, HWME is wondering if there is something wrong with me.

The blanket on the bed? Of course I knit that.
